Wedding Themes for the Seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall)

The decision has been made. You are going to get married! Now a lot more decisions have to be made. The planning stage of any wedding can be very stressful on any couple; I would just like to give some ideas on some theme weddings for different parts of the year. You may have picked a date and just want to do something a little bit different. These suggestions might be helpful.

Summer:

The Boating Couple: You maybe the couple that is very active in boating and have many friends that also enjoy your hobby. Have the ceremony at the yacht club or marina and then get everybody in their pleasure crafts and head out on the lake to celebrate. Hire a large pontoon boat to allow the catering company to feed your guests while on the water. This is not a good idea for a large wedding and will be a very casual ceremony, but lots of fun to be had. Make sure you have designated captains for every craft that goes out.

The Farm Wedding: If you know someone that has a lot of open land, ask to rent or let you use it for your wedding day. Set up tents, build a dance floor, hire a band and have a blast. Make the ceremony formal and then let everyone change into comfortable attire afterwards.

Fall:

Halloween: If your wedding is falling around Halloween then it might be fun to have a costume party themed wedding. What is a better excuse to dress up and celebrate your wedding?

Fall Colors: Decorate the reception venue with pumpkins, gourds, apples and colorful leaves. Maybe you can arrange for your guests to be able to take a hayride during your reception.

Winter:

Christmas: If you are getting married around Christmas then this is a no brainer. Decorate with Christmas trees, wrap empty boxes in beautiful wrapping paper and use snow globes as center pieces.

Wintertime: If you are getting married after the holidays then decorate the reception with cool colors and ice themed pieces. Have a few ice carvings made for you wedding and use blues and silvers as your main color theme. You may want to show up in a snow sled drawn by horses.

Spring:

Easter: Used a lot of pastel colors and decorate with an Easter theme. Hide colored eggs with little gifts inside for your guests. Use Easter baskets as your center pieces.

In with the Lamb: Decorate using the old saying of out with the lion and in with the lamb. Decorate with tons of spring time flowers and let your guests take home some flowers to plant as their wedding favors.

Use your imagination with different seasonal themes; it can make your wedding day one to remember.
